Ripon Community Link support adults and young people with learning disabilities. They have been a donated a Portakabin for extra classroom space to allow sessions to be delivered while observing social distancing rules. Grant funding will allow the group to make the space fit for purpose e.g. installation of a disabled access ramp and outdoor handwashing station, basic equipment e.g. chairs, tables, hygiene products. Funding will also enable safer staffing levels (1:2 rather than the usual 1:4).

This project aims to provide a training and support service to people with learning disabilities, and their carer's in North Yorkshire. Training sessions will be outreached to districts within North Yorkshire which has poor transport links. The training and learning opportunities will cover all key aspects of life for the service users and focus on several topics including work, health, money management, peer education, support (life coaching) safety, and equality awareness.
