The project will provide regular physical activity for around 180 deaf women from minority ethnic groups. A total of 36, two-hour weekly sessions will take place. Activities will be delivered by a qualified female coach with experience of working deaf people and will include tennis, boccia, badminton, fitness, cricket and basketball. An assistant coach / sports facilitator will help beginners and provide a supportive environment for participants. A BSL interpreter will also be present at each session. Funding will support coachesÂ’ and interpreter fees, promotion, equipment, facility hire and a launch event for women to drop in and understand more about the sessions.

In particular addressing the gap in access to Sex Relationship Education (SRE), Consent and Peer Relationships.
