This project in Barnsley ensures people with disabilities and their carers have access to the choices available to them, enabling them to be in control over the decisions affecting their lives and to live independently. The project provides supported access to advice and information services, both over the telephone and through home visits carried out by paid staff who are termed 'peer advisors' because they have first hand experience of facing similar barriers to the target beneficiaries.
