The Foundation will provide remote counselling services to 15 children, young people and adults who have experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual abuse. They will be offered a course of 6 sessions but some may need more depending on the level of need. Fully qualified therapeutic practitioners will deliver the sessions. The Foundation will collaborate with support network organisations such as The Her Center and Athena refuge in Lewisham, but this is not limited to only these two organisations, we will work with networks across London. The referral process will be simple and quick, the referring organisations simply need to fill in one form and they have to e-mail the completed form to the Foundation. Each individual will be offered a session within 48 hours to 1 week of receiving the referral.

Providing 1:1 counselling service to pupil premium pupils in Van Gogh Primary, Park Campus Academy, Elm Court and Kennington Park Academy. 3 of the 4 schools are specialist schools, taking children who have been excluded from mainstream or who are unable to cope in a mainstream setting due to their special needs. Talking therapies will be provided by a bank of qualified therapists with at least 5 years of experience each and where appropriate will involve regular joint sessions with parents/carers. The project will target those pupils whose ability to engage meaningfully in school is linked to their mental health and measure improvements in academic achievement, behaviour and additional engagement in extra-curricular activities as indicators of success. Following the successful roll-out of online counselling sessions during the lockdown, school refusers (and those with very poor attendance) will also be targeted for support virtually.

We expect to see these outcomes for women and girls; of increased self-esteem, belief in their own ability, skills and experience, positive thinking, and authentic boosted confidence levels. These expected outcomes should increase the women and girls' chances of securing employment and increase their positive role in the community. It will enable them to listen effectively to constructive feedback and improve health and wellbeing, encouraging them to look after themselves not only physically but emotionally but also mentally. Learning strategies in how to cope in a difficult situation, this will assist them in the community. Building social networks with their families, friends or neighbours in the community so they can share their story confidently and more able to pass on their story to others in need, thereby, increasing community liaison, reducing loneliness and improving self- confidence.
