The funding will help to deliver victim support services for sex workers across England. This will further fund research collaboration with sex workers into the barriers faced in accessing their services and exiting sex work. NUM will receive the funding over three years to support sex workers from various backgrounds with a focus on those from marginalised communities. NUM aims to end violence against sex workers. They provide support services to sex workers to ensure greater access to justice and protection from offenders who are often serial sex offenders. They give further advocacy and support through case workers who provide access and information on sexual health safety and financial supports. NUM recognise and acknowledges there a number of structural barriers and stigma towards sex workers they work to improve relations with police through community education training courses and campaigns for fairer treatment in society.

We'll improve the safety of vulnerable, excluded groups by empowering them to share time-critical, safety alerts with others nearby via smartphones. We’ve developed a prototype app for testing with sex workers in Manchester and need to expand the project to London, as it has the highest concentration of sex workers in the UK.Sex workers are one of the groups most at risk from violent crime and rely on their own community for protection. This app will empower that community to quickly alert each other to imminent dangers nearby to help prevent instances of violent assault, rape or murder.
