This one-year project provides a weekly Sunday social and activity group for children and young people from the Jewish community living in Hackney who can lack access to the same opportunities as their peers and feel isolated and alone. The participants have chosen the activities on offer, including singing, dancing and sports, and instructors will support them to develop their skills and maximise their potential. The project provides the children and young people with something to look forward to each week. They will grow in self-esteem and confidence, make new friends and support networks and improve their wellbeing and mental health.

This one-year project provides a safe and positive outlet for young people (girls) aged 11-12 from Stamford Hill in Hackney, London, who have limited opportunities to develop their creative talents. There are weekly dance sessions and weekly creative arts activities, such as painting, and culminates in a presentation and performance day for the participants’ friends and family. Volunteers – who are previous participants – work closely with the young people, supporting them to lead the project, and also receive leadership training. The project aims to foster strong connections between local young people and their peers.
