Our project aims to tackle extremist attitudes and beliefs amongst vulnerable young people from different backgrounds. We will: - Use our existing and new networks and resources to deliver workshops and presentations to 200+ students in 5 schools / colleges and/or universities in and around Bristol with cohorts from the target backgrounds to promote the project and its aims. - From these schools, bring together a group of 50 YP from disadvantaged white British backgrounds who are vulnerable to rightwing ideologies, from disadvantaged Black, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BMER) backgrounds who are vulnerable to Islamic extremism and radicalisation and from European countries who feel targeted by the hate crime resulting from the European referendum. - Run 10 workshops with professionals from the media industry in which the YP will use their ideas and findings to develop the story and script for a short drama then plan all aspects of production and post production of the resource. - Organise 8 days of media production, including YP from the different groups in acting or behind the scenes. - Run 5 lesson plan development sessions with YP from different groups. - Trial and evaluate the new resource in two Bristol schools with cohorts from target groups and make any necessary adjustments to the lesson plan. - Run 42 training sessions including Safeguarding and Reporting training for 30 YP in Wales, the South West and in London on the new and our existing extremism resources, to deliver 170 workshops, talks and presentations on different forms of extremism, reaching 5000+ YP nationally over 18 months. - Use our social media platforms to create a youth led movement to challenge extremism and prejudice. - Roll out peer education sessions nationally, reaching 5000+ YP over 18 months, using new and existing resources on different forms of extremism.

Equality Now estimate that 60,000 girls are at risk of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) here in the UK and the Home Office estimates around 3,000 girls are forced into marriage every year. The group support disadvantaged young people from communities affected by these issues to lead work on creating different models of raising awareness. This not only educates the young people on their rights and how to stay safe, it develops their skills and raises their aspirations. Once trained up youth ambassadors travel nationally to provide training in schools, to communities and frontline professionals, helping to reduce the number of fresh incidents and supporting survivors into safer lives.
