The funding will help refugees build the skills and resilience they need to create new lives with the support of their new community. Beneficiaries of the project will be refugees asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants suffering from mental health issues isolation and poverty. Refugee Radio registered as a charity in 2010 and supports refugees asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants. They run community projects targeting mental health isolation and social exclusion and use radio and music to give a voice to those who do not have one. The project will include a mental-health support group for refugees and asylum seekers with PTSD. The support group will help them to overcome suicide and hopelessness and make a lasting positive change in their lives. This project will involve 100 volunteers from the community every year in the direct delivery of befriending and language tuition.

Clients suffer from mental health issues, in particular PTSD and depression resulting from traumatic experiences of war, torture and sexual violence.
