CHELTENHAM STREET PASTORS

Volunteer church members, in teams, make themselves available by patrolling the streets of Cheltenham to care, listen, support and help vulnerable people between the hours of 10pm and 4am visiting pubs, night clubs and parties in the locality. Throughout this time members of the team at the base listen for phone, radio or text messages and pray for the work of the members patrolling the streets.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been very successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • One or more trustees receive payments or benefits from the charity for providing services to the charity

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • On several occasions in recent years income has been less than spending
