1) Through taking part in the activities and agency visits the girls will be faced with new experiences and learn life skills such as cooking, D.I.Y and explore career options. By encouraging them to take part shaping and fundraising for the project it will promote confidence building, empower them to take pride in their achievements and give them a sense of belonging and self-worth. 2) Through sporting activities and getting out and about we will increase young people's physical health, reduce stress and frustrations and help towards their general well-being in a safe, controlled environment. There will be opportunities to try new sports that are normally not accessible due to costs. We can also encourage and signpost to other low cost sports groups. There will be improved aspiration through agency visits and personal development sessions. The club will be a safe place for the girls to share troubles and talk about issues they are facing with people they can trust. When appropriate they will be signposted to other agencies such as Safeguarding, Youth and Family Support, Sexual Health and the Child Sexual Exploitation teams. 3) Being part of a group will give the girls a sense of belonging and the opportunity to feel part of something good that many do not currently have. The sports and team building activities will promote teamwork and encourage problem solving, talking to each other, working together to deal with conflict and negotiation. The club will give the opportunity for the girls to build friendships with those that they would not normally associate. This could be those from different schools and those out of the education system. Through the club's early intervention this will improve community relationships by reducing anti-social behaviour on the estate.
