This project will engage 70 inactive BAMER beneficiaries, aged 40+ to participate in sporting activities to improve their overall health and wellbeing. The project will deliver 4 hours of support per week, over 36 weeks, twice weekly. The sessions will be delivered by a professional/qualified sports coach and take place at Community House, Edmonton. Activities include yoga, Zumba, badminton, walking, dancing, Tai Chi, Pilates, seated exercises, outdoors jogging, stretching, breathing exercises, muscle-strengthening and aerobics.

STN’s “And Still I Rise” project empowers BAMER beneficiaries to change their livelihoods through improving their education, skills and job circumstances by providing a careers advice hub that supports them to identify suitable learning, training and career/work pathways. Additionally, our community outreach initiative will identity BAMER participants considered “hard-to-reach-and-help,” raising awareness of/promote adult learning opportunities enhancing their job-related skills; widen career opportunities and ability to secure SUSTAINABLE jobs. This will be achieved through tailored support provision; facilitating a ‘can do’ attitude among participants; improving confidence; increasing numbers of BAMER people engaged in adult education, including AEB, and the Mayor's Skills Academies; promote the benefits of numeracy and digital skills for everyday life. Delivery will be face-to-face/one-to-one awareness/advisory sessions; drop-ins, virtual support and group-workshop activities.

A two-year project which aims to improve mental and physical wellbeing through a self-help social club for Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee people who live in Enfield, North London. The project includes careers advice, CV writing and interview practice, as well as social activities like mindfulness sessions, fitness classes, outdoor walking, arts and crafts. There are weekly coffee morning talks with presentations on issues such as coercive control, debt prevention, social welfare support and the cost-of-living crisis. The project also includes healthy cookery sessions, budgeting workshops, and digital proficiency training.

This two-year project delivers a user-led, peer-to-peer support social club for women from Black, Asian, minority ethnic and refugee backgrounds living in Edmonton. Participants meet regularly to engage in recreational activities such as exercise and handicrafts. Sessions provide a respectful, safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for women who are often disenfranchised from the wider community and mainstream services, enabling them to develop friendships within a diverse setting, prevent social isolation, and improve their self-esteem/confidence to engage better within the wider community. Participants agree activities as a group and work together to shape the future direction of the project.
