This project will include 6 outreach sessions in local schools/youth groups to identify, target + reach 120 less active / inactive young people. 5 day Bikeability training + bike building project over Easter holidays, reaching 25 young people. 6 bike rides exploring local quiet routes reaching 20 young people. Access to quality bikes, including an affordable bike borrowing scheme.

Family Bike Club (FBC) is a one-year programme of weekly, accessible, inclusive cycling activities reaching at least 60 underserved young people aged 4-18 in Northumberland Park and Broadwater Farm, both within 10% most deprived wards in England. FBC addresses barriers to cycling: providing equipment and free activity; regularly present in public spaces. Community engagement: visiting schools, children’s centres, community events etc to ensure we’re reaching underserved young people 2 x 2 hour weekly sessions at Lordship Rec, near BWF for 46 weeks 2 x 2 hour weekly sessions in Northumberland Park for 46 weeks

The project is using funding to run a community-led intergenerational walking and cycling programme focused on wellbeing in Tottenham. Funding will enable the group to deliver walking and cycling sessions online and offline supporting people to reengage with the area and each other as they emerge from the pandemic. The project aims to make people feel more connected and improve physical and mental health.
