Coventry City of Culture Trust is an arts organisation planning and delivering Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture 2021 and its legacy activity between 2022-2024.
This grant will support the Trust to work with the arts and community sector to embed legacy practice via a programme of commissioned partner projects and capacity-building support. The programme is designed to harness and expand networks of partners and embed co-creation practice and joined-up ways of working across the city, with funds contributing to a series of targeted and open commissions, and associated staff costs.

I am writing to offer you a grant of up to £10,000 towards The development of Joint Cultural Needs Assessments (JCNAs) which will be an increasingly important tool to support cultural organisations. These will need to work more closely with a range of partners from the public, private and volutnary sectors. Together, they will need to ensure the cultural offer to local communities reflects local needs and priorities, and is co-ordinated to maximise social and civic benefits. Moreover, a much more data-driven approach will be critical to targeting resources effectively and measuring success. This new Guide should help partners who are considering doing a JCNA in a specific place. It will need to be flexible enough to accommodate a range of scenarios and partnerships, but specific enough to ensure that there is a level or robustness to every initiative. in the first instance it will assist the two Performing Arts Producing Hub pilots that the Arts Council will be funding through National Lottery Arts Council Project Grants in 2019.
