Funding is towards core costs for members of staff over 3 months since without them, many members would not be able to access help. Providing shopping, assistance and care to people who are blind or partially sighted is complex so it is essential that they are able to continue being available to members.

This project will provide visually impaired people in East Sussex with a two-pronged approach to improve their skills, self-confidence and information levels. It will do this via an 11-day course that will cover confidence, self-esteem, skills and strategies for daily living and cookery and well-being. The training will be assisted by a visually impaired volunteer who may be a past beneficiary. Visually impaired volunteers will also deliver aids and equipment demonstrations to the newly diagnosed.
