Hill House is a unique, purpose-built care facility based in Sandbach, Cheshire. Dedicated care staff provide personalised support for each resident, ensuring everyone can live as independently as they choose. All 24 residents are in the ‘extremely vulnerable’ category. Over 4 weeks ago, Hill House closed its doors to residents’ friends and families to control the spread of Covid-19. This has had a profound impact on residents, who are struggling with the effects of isolation. Residents are following the conventions of social distancing within the already close confines of each residential room; due to the layout, residents self-isolate in their bedrooms if any symptoms are displayed. This means each resident must therefore spend a lot of time on their own, with communal eating no longer an option. Other than a handful of fellow residents in each lodge, the only face-to-face interaction residents have had since 23rd March is with our dedicated staff team. Our care staff at Hill House are on the frontline in the battle against coronavirus. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is desperately needed to protect our residents, staff and their loved ones at home from this deadly virus.
