This project will deliver 5 hours per week of dance, yoga and chair-based exercise for vulnerable women in Merseyside. There will be 1.5 hours of yoga/exercise and 3.5 hours of dance, for a period of 50 weeks. The sessions will be particularly targeted at areas of high deprivation across Liverpool.

The aim of the project is to reduce isolation and improve mental health and wellbeing for women on lower incomes, mainly refugee and asylum seeking that have been affected by the changeover to Universal Credit. Funding will be used to run one weekday session where women will be offered a hot drink and cake, access to the listening ear service and a free head and neck massage.

This is the expansion of an existing project that aims to improve the lives of women through personal development, training opportunities, crisis counselling, alternative therapies and helping them to make healthier lifestyle choices for them and their families.
