This organisation offers specialist support and advice for parents with learning disabilities who are going through periods of crisis who are vulnerable and are at risk. They are facing increased demand during the COVID-19 crisis which this funding will help them with. There will be one to one support for parents with solicitors social workers and court officials. Easy to read information will be provided to help parents make informed choices about their children’s welfare during the pandemic. Wellbeing packs such as colouring and quizzes will also be provided.

CASBA is based in South Birmingham and provides independent advocacy support to vulnerable adults with learning disabilities. It is the only agency offering this service that works with adults with learning disabilities and their families that live on low incomes in some of the most deprived areas of South Birmingham. CASBA works with over 200 clients a year and gives them the confidence and resilience to receive better welfare and care services so that they can maintain their independence, health and wellbeing. The grant will contribute towards the salaries of a Development Co-ordinator and Administrator so that it can focus on its future plans.
