Whizz-Kidz will support at least 230 young wheelchair users aged 14-25, developing their service in 6 areas in Wales to complete a UK-wide spread. Tailored one-to-one support will be provided by staff, assisted by volunteer buddies, to enable the wheelchair users to attend clubs, camps, wheelchair skills training and work placements. This will enable them to gain the skills they need to improve their confidence and aid their transition to independent living in adult life.

The project will be based througout England, each scheme consisting of five sessions and using a combination of games, sports and group activities to allow for a progressive increase in skills and confidence. Training topics will include spatial awareness, moving around at different speeds, improved accuracy when turning, route planning and road safety.
