The funding will be used to organise an open-air family fun day in early September 2022 that showcases Eritrean culture and develop a better understanding between this and other local communities. It aims to welcome 500+ visitors and will include local food music and dance children’s entertainers ball skill competitions and also have a host of other agencies and services attending such as NHS police and local churches. The day will mark the start of a social media campaign on behalf of ECUK which will then run over the next 9-10 months and which will present ECUK with a much needed social and media presence and profile. The project aims to use the day as a platform to raise awareness of the Eritrean culture and build relationships.
