NEW FRIENDS FOR YOU

We help and support the lonely and bereaved by providing fully trained volunteers to befriend lonely people local to Chorley by visiting them for at least one hour each week. We host a weekly Grief Support Group for the bereaved to help them pick up the threads of a social life. We provide lunch and tea outings for the volunteers, the befriended and the Grief Support Group.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been very successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government and there are significant future grants due to be received
  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • This charity does not have a Conflict of Interests policy
  • The Board is predominantly female

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
