This project will deliver a wellbeing programme called Active Pride, for LGBTQ+ participants living in London. It will combine physical activities and in-person connection with therapeutic components with the aim of improving peopleÂ’s physical and emotional health and combatting loneliness. Active Pride will introduce five pilot physical and sporting activities for LGBTQ+ people, including Boxing and Mindfulness workshops, accessible tennis coaching, wild swimming and pool swimming, a multi cultural dance offer and walking and talking groups.

The funding will be used to provide a culturally specific mental health support services to people of African and Caribbean heritage across City Hackney and Waltham Forest in London. The project aims to improve mental wellbeing.ORGANISATION MCHWF began life in 1981 and first registered as a charity in 1982. It now operates as a charitable company.MCHWF currently deliver a diverse mix of services:• Services for those in immediate need: the Wellbeing Network; Crisis Intervention at the Recovery Hub; Single Point of Entry referral and assessment service; Welfare Rights Case-working. • Services for those needing help to sustain their wellbeing: Counselling & Psychotherapy; Mindfulness courses; Welfare Rights Advice; the Recovery Hub day service; Peer Support Services across the area. • They run education and employment services for those wishing to develop themselves further as well as engaging with clients through their service user consultation forum hosted at the Recovery Hub on Homerton Row. • They also run services specifically developed and delivered by and for LGBT+ people (Rainbow Mind) and people from African Caribbean communities (IRIE Mind). The IRIE Mind project launched in 2019 to facilitate culturally specific services to people of African and Caribbean heritage. Current activities include 121 and group therapies cooking classes pampering/self-care sessions and exercise groups. PROPOSAL Currently IRIE runs on 3 days a week and this proposal is to increase the offer to 4 days pay a proportion of core staffing costs and add a new Clinical Lead Referral Coordinator sessional therapists and peer facilitators to the staff team.In addition to their current offer IRIE will use this funding to run new services:• Workshops to reduce chronic illnesses within the Black African and Caribbean communities• Culturally specific counselling and psychotherapy• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy• Black History Month c

£9,040 for the proposal to support and develop the resilience of frontline staff to deliver the following outcomes and outputs: one-to-one supervision sessions for 15 frontline participants, at which wellbeing needs assessment will be carried out. Two group workshops will prepare participants for the intervention, which comprises 6X two-hour sessions, every two weeks + homework. One-to-one supervision sessions and two workshops will follow the main intervention, which aim to embed the skills developed during the course.
