In more than 50 countries around the world LGBT behaviour is criminalised. Even in more enlightened territories LGBTQ persons are often discriminated against. In the UK over two thirds of LGBTQ persons have experienced abuse, often physical. Lack of awareness amongst the general population leads to a lack of understanding and tendency to support homophobic views.

On our grants database less than 0.25% has been allocated to organisations tacking LGBT issues so we believe there is a serious lack of funding.
