Who they support

Priorities will be made for: • Funding of locally based community/voluntary groups who have a clear understanding of the needs of their community and are making a real difference. • Supporting organisations which self-evaluate to ensure their projects are making a difference. • Funding to support changes that improve the quality of people's lives. • Building community capacity and empowering local communities. They target: • Registered charities working for the benefit of people in Surrey. • Voluntary and community groups which are charitable in purpose and are working for the benefit of people in Surrey. • Not for profit organisations such as CIC with a clear social purpose working for the benefit of people in Surrey - such organisations can generate surpluses but where they do, they are reinvested to support the charitable work of the organisation. • National charities may apply where the project is clearly locally driven and accounted for, and funding will be used to support work which is for the benefit of the people of Surrey. • Faith groups, where the project clearly benefits the wider community.

Grant criteria

They recommend reading through the fund Guidance Notes (https://mk0communityfoua0l2h.kinstacdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/SYP-Guidance-Notes-2016.pdf)before submitting an Expression of Interest. - Surrey Young People’s Fund, Supporting disadvantaged young people to gain access to training and employment. - Carers Support (Guildford) Fund, Making small grants to carers who live in the borough of Guildford in order to provide them with a respite from their caring role - David Tyson Memorial Fund, Supporting young people to develop skills and pursue a career within the engineering/rail engineering field. The grants team will consider requests and aim to get back to individuals within a week to advise whether they can invite you forward to make an application. If you are invited to make an application the grants team will be there throughout to guide you through the process.

Application procedure

- After the submission of an Expression of Interest Form has been reviewed by a Grants Officers, you will be invited to submit a full application for funding. Your application is assessed and you may be contacted by their Grants Team for further information during this time - The application then goes to their Grants Policy Group where it is decided whether the application can be put to Donors - The application is sent to one or more of their Donor Funds who will then decide if they would like to support the project. The Grants Team will let you know if you’ve been successful. - The decision process can take around 3 months from the application deadline. - You will then be required to report on the outcomes of your grant, and information you provide will support future applications
